SLO Communities Bridging Poverty is a diverse group of people teaming up to help local citizens move from poverty to possibility. Members are from government and non-governmental organizations, groups like CAPSLO, the SLO County Office of Education and the Department of Social Services. All team members are strictly volunteers, but they’re supported by their employers to do this very important work for SLO County.
Knowing that very few people escape poverty without someone taking an interest and extending a hand, group members have asked and answered the question:
“If not me, then who?”
The big event SLO Communities Bridging Poverty is working toward is:
- Saturday, February 26, 2011
- 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Cuesta College, Hwy 1, San Luis Obispo
- Free to all participants
- Transportation and childcare provided
This uplifting, educational and fun event is for people currently living in poverty who would like to discover their strengths, renew hope and find resources to help better their lives. Read more about the Opportunity Conference.
